What is the definition of paradise? Mostly it is define as a peaceful and a delightful place. It is a place where you could relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. I think I found this paradise in an islet called Pandanon.
Pandanon Island sits in the middle of a vast blue Camotes sea and is part of Getafe in Northern Bohol, Philippines. It used to be a hidden paradise as the locals described it. But as years go by, slowly the island was known to the community. In fact it is one of the tourist destinations by a lot of tourist (foreigners mostly). It has a center piece pavilion, cottages, a church ideal for weddings and a concrete port building.

Cottages at Pandanon Island
Pandanon Island is ideal for a getaway from the crowded city. White sand and warm turquoise awaits the visitor for a day of fun under the sun. The environment is peaceful and the air is fresh which would really help you relax. It is ideal for any beach activities like snorkeling, skimboarding, and beach volleyball. You can even just spend the day lying around on the white coral sand. According to locals, during low tide, the stretch of the sand doubles or even triples to the normal size of it. During this time, you can enjoy exploring the surrounding azure waters by merely walking through the sand.

Landing fee is P100/person and there’s always a hut available for renting. You can bring your own food or you can combine your day at the beach with a great barbecue lunch. You can even ask the locals to prepare some foods at a reasonable price and all the proceeds will go to the community. The island has no overnight facilities but you can go on campouts or you can ask for a home stay from the locals.

Motorized Boats
Getting to Pandanon is so easy. You can rent motorized boats from Bohol or from any point in Mactan, Cebu from Punta Engano and to any of the beach resorts in Maribago, Agus or Marigondon, to the southern part of Cordova. Prices starts at P3,500.00 for a 30-person sized boat but it will vary depending on season and boat size.
