Q Park Cebu

Q Park Cebu is situated in Compostela, Cebu. This has been a project of the family of Norberto Quisumbing, Jr. and the Norkis Group. Owners call it “a legacy to the Filipino people, a place to remember.”

Getting to Q Park Cebu is easy. One needs to head north of Cebu and somewhere in Barangay Magay, to one’s left there is a sign pointing to Q Park Cebu. You can also ask the locals around. Once you enter this road and after traveling 5 kilometers, you would then be able to see the entrance to Q Park Cebu. Before reaching the breathtaking view of the park, one needs to pass the steep, uphill climb to Heroes’ Hill.

Q Park Cebu is a 200-hectare complex and is open free to public daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The complex is a work in progress which has a Girl’s Camp, Boy’s Camp, a rest area, Station of the Cross, Nativity Cave and Heroes’ Hill.

Only the Heroes’ Hill in Q Park Cebu, which is a hectare in size is the only that is open by invitation or by request. The place is a tribute to unknown soldiers, the OFWs, the awardees of the Filipino Foundation from 1986-2003. Inside the hill, one could see an anahaw-roofed kiosk which contains portraits of Philippine presidents and Filipino statesmen. The center of kiosk is rounded by a pond full of koi.

During Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday at Q Park Cebu, Holy mass starts at 3:00 PM. The park brings a different kind of ambiance. It’s a perfect place for soul searching and penitence. You can have a peaceful scenic view and you would feel you are close to nature.

Wooden Post Accident in Tisa

Tisa, a barangay between Labangon and Punta Princesa in Cebu City, Philippines had a Wooden Post Accident recently. The post was used for VECO’s (Visayan Electric Company) Electrical Wiring and had been standing strong for years until Wooden Post Accident happened.

The Eletrical Post is located near “Siomai sa Tisa“. The accident happened around 10 in the morning without any harm done to vehicles and people near by. The day before the wooden post accident happened, it was raining hard which could possibly caused the wood to become soft and got broken the next day.

Tisa is one of the best Barangays in Cebu City and many vehicles are already accessing it. When the accident happened Manny Maranga, the Creator of Extraordinary Guitars in Tisa responded to the accident and put a visible huge paper on the electrical wires to give a warning signal to drivers to avoid hitting the wires which could possibly cause someone’s life.

After several minutes, the Barangay Councilors responded and phoned the authorities to get the Wooden Post and replace it with another one. Now, everything is Okay and back to normal.

Wheiz Gear: Safety Helmet

Using my Wheiz Gear Safety Helmet in travelling around Cebu City looking for Historical Places Attraction is a must. Wearing a safety helmet has all the advantages in avoiding further damage when you get into a motorcycle accident. My Wheiz Gear Safety Helmet was bought by my girlfriend at Reliance Motors in SM City Cebu at P2,500 and is very much worth it for its comfort and style.

What I love about this helmet is that it is DOT (Department Of Transportation – US) approved which means it has passed the quality standard for motorcycle helmets.

Other things to consider when buying a helmet are:

1. The helmet should be visible enough to other drivers to avoid getting hit accidentally.

2. Proper lock to avoid getting the helmet out of your head when an accident comes along your way.

3. Proper dust cover for facial openings (eyes, nose, mouth, ears).

4. Proper shade against the sunlight.

5. Proper chin support

6. Choose the correct helmet size that fits your head. Some people chose the bigger helmets because it is comfortable, but when it comes to accidental impacts, it supports lesser compared to perfectly fit helmets.

7. Be sure the helmet has proper air ventilation.

The best part of my helmet is its front design and color. The chin support is perfect, the air ventilation is all over the helmet, the foam inside is perfect and the color is very visible during daytime and nighttime.

Since this helmet was bought, I always get comments from other riders and relatives that I really value safety.

San Miguel Beer: Biggest Can

San Miguel Beer is very popular in Cebu City and all over the Philippines. It has been known for its great tasting beer, perfect for socializing and group drinking. San Miguel Beer is the Philippines’ largest producer of beer with over 90% market share in 2009. It has five breweries spread across the country producing eight beer brands, led by its flagship brand San Miguel Beer Pale Pilsen. Other brands are San Mig Light, Cerveza Negra, Gold Eagle Beer, San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer, San Mig Strong Ice, San Mig Super Dry & the famous Red Horse Beer with tagline “Ito ang Tama!” (This is the best!).

When I went to Iligan City Hall to file my Marriage License, I saw the Biggest San Miguel Beer Pale Pilsen Can. It was the first time I saw a huge can and to my amazement it was used as a Trash Can in the City Hall’s surroundings. So I took a picture of myself beside the can to show it to you.

In Mandaue City, Cebu a big bottle of San Miguel Beer also stands at the top of the San Miguel Brewery Building.

On top of the bottle’s crown is a signal light to avoid low flying aircraft to crash in the bottle (it may break and spill all the beer inside… hahaha).

The Sacrament of Confirmation is described as the sacrament of spiritual maturity. It ameliorates the soul of the person with deep graces which include help and assistance of the Spirit. It is the sacrament that addresses the receiver to witness bravely the gift of faith by word and as an example of their lives.

Sacrament of Confirmation roots us deeply in our relationship towards God, unites us firmly with Christ and prompt us that for every sacrament that we receive is already an encounter with Him, increases the undying gifts of the Holy Spirit, strengthen our bond with the church and gives us enduringness to spread and defend our faith through action and words.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is bestowed by the bishop and is usually given in the early teen years during which youngsters are mature enough recognize that they are facing a serious religious and moral issues in their lives. Adults who haven’t receive the sacrament for whatever reason need to visit the church and ask when the sacrament can be received along with the other unconfirmed adults. In Cebu City, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral does the Sacrament of Confirmation every first Saturday of the Month. You need to pay Php 150.00 as registration.

The oil used during the Sacrament of Confirmation symbolizes strength given to concede one’s faith in difficulty. The laying on of hands by the bishop is the symbol of the coming and accepting the Holy Spirit.

Sacrament of Confirmation is prerequisite to being married in the church.

In Cebu City there are a lot of restaurants that offers eat all you can buffet. One of this is AAA Diamond Tongs Restobar. It is located in F.Cabahug Street Mabolo, Cebu City just opposite with Sarrosa Hotel. They offer eat all you can buffet at a price of Php 199.00.

AAA Diamond Tongs Restobar is one of those restaurants who serve good and delicious foods. From my own opinion, they have delicious food compare to other restaurants that offer eat all you can buffet. Which means paying Php 199.00 is worth it. They serve different kinds of dishes like fried kankong, talaba, buttered chicken, pancit, beef steak and a whole lot more. They also serve “a la carte” menu.

Toothsome Desserts

AAA Diamond Tongs Restobar also have desserts. And I must say that I like their puto cheese, biko and leche flan. It’s the first time I enjoyed eating desserts on an eat all you can buffet. The only thing that’s missing is fruits.

Cosy Place

Staffs at AAA Diamond Tongs Restobar are friendly and accommodating. They serve their guest very well. During dinner, they have live acoustic to entertain guest. They also served a wide range of beverages including cocktails. Beer is at Php 100.00 for 3 bottles. Lunch buffet will be served from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and dinner buffet will be served from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. But they can go beyond 10 PM if necessary. And by the way, the place is clean and definitely not crowded. You would really love to stay around for a while.

Don’t be the last to taste the sumptuous dishes that AAA Diamond Restobar serves.
