A popular getaway destination is situated in the town of Badian, Cebu. A three hours bus drive south-west of Cebu City, there lies within the mountains of Barangay Matutinao in Badian: Kawasn Falls. It’s a three tiered cascade of crystal clear mountain springs. From the parking area, you will have to trek uphill for about thirty minutes depending on your pace to get into the first waterfalls. Along the way there are stalls where you can buy souvenirs such as breaded necklace, bracelets and printed t-shirts. Be careful with the trek as you will be going through a very rocky and narrow path. You would need to cross three small bridges before reaching the falls. Just take it easy, enjoy the tropical forest scenery while going up the trek. You can take pictures as well so you would have for own memorabilia.

Since Kawasan Fallsis compose of three waterfalls, the first waterfall is the largest among the three and especially the most crowded one. It’s because the first waterfall is the first one you could come across. You need to go up a very steep passageway for about another fifteen minutes to get into the other two waterfalls and as well as the spring on the top. You could bring your own food or you can buy from the resort’s restaurants. Cottages and tables are available for rent and if you want to spend the night in Kawasan Falls, they have rooms for rent as well. You can rent life vest just for safety precaution at affordable prices and bamboo raft to take you around the cool water lake.

Zest yourself swimming on the cool fresh water with the picturesque of green tropical trees and plants. Or you could just loosen up and feel the cool breeze of fresh air. The pathway may be dark as the sun sets so best to bring flashlights or just don’t stay late if you’re not planning to spend the night in the place. Be very extra careful in going down the slope especially those from the two falls on the top to avoid mishaps and accident.
