Explore Camotes Island


Camotes Island is a group of island that forms the part of the province of Cebu. It is situated eat of Cebu Island and southwest of Leyte Island and north of Bohol Island. That makes Camotes Island very accessible. The island is made up of three sub-islands which are divided into four municipalities: Poro, Tudela, San Francisco and Pilar. Camotes Island has a total size of 20, 964 hectares and the climate is characterized by distinct dry season.

You can reach the Island of Camotes via Aznar boat or via pump boats. An Aznar boat leaves daily from Pier 2 of Cebu at 9: 00 pm and docks at Poro Isalnd in Camotes at 1:00 AM. Fare depends on the accommodation; Tourist is Php 280 while Economy is Php 220. If you miss this boat you will need to ravel north of Cebu to Danao City which is an hour travel from Cebu City to be able to ride on pump boats. From Danao to Camotes is PHP 180 while from Ouano Wharf in Mandaue City cost Php 200. You can also take the three hours travel from Ormoc, Leyte to Tudela, Camotes Island. Upon arriving at Camotes Island, you can hire motorcycles which they called “habal-habal”, multi-cabs, or request the resort van to pick you up. There are a lot of resorts in the island with great accommodation at reasonable prices.

The lake is regarded as the largest in Visayas and Mindanao with a total size of 680 hectares. They’ve develop a lake park which is great for picnic, fishing and boating. Paddle boats are available for you to go around the lake and enjoy the scenic view.
